Chandigarh university has fallen into a big controversy. In news we can infer that, one female student from the hostel has captured the videos of girls in the same hostel while involving in the private activities and shared the same with her male friend.

This offence comes under section 354 C of IPC VOYEURISM

The word "VOYEUR" means, the act of getting pleasure from secretly watching other people involved in sexual activity or doing anything in private like undressing, bathing, using washroom and they do not expect of being watched by anyone.

Similarly VOYEURISM carrys same the meaning and it is an offence under IPC. Whoever takes pleasure from secretly watching other people involved in sexual activity or doing anything in private like undressing, bathing, using washroom and they do not expect of being watched by anyone and distribute the same shall be charged with this offence and be punishable with:

On 1st conviction - Imprisonment of mini 1 year which may extend to 3 years + fine.

On 2nd conviction-Imprisonment of mini 3 year which may extend to 7 years + fine.
