Any rumor stating that FSSAI has permitted insects in chocolate manufacturing process, are false.

This is one initiative taken by them which provides clarifications about food myths and thus helps give the right information about food to people.

The food laws of our country are regulated by the food safety and standards authority of India. The Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 provides the framework for these food laws of our country along with may others.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has been set up under Food Safety and Standards , 2006 which merges different acts and requests that have until now taken care of food related issues in different Ministries and Departments. FSSAI has been made for setting down science based norms for articles of food and to control their assembling, stockpiling, dispersion, deal and import to guarantee accessibility of protected and healthy nourishment for human utilization.

Features of the Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006

Foundation of the Authority

Service of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India is the Administrative Ministry for the usage of FSSAI. The Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) have just been designated by Government of India. The Chairperson is in the position of Secretary to Government of India.
