One nation, One language

If you think that the concept of ‘One Nation & One Language' is new for India then you are wrong because these concept brought our freedom fighters, one nation and one language is not a unprecedented concept in our country. It is true that our country has one language but it would be wrong that we forcefully impose that language on another. Under Article 19(a) of the Constitution of India says that every citizens have right to freedom of speech and expression.

It means all the citizens have right to express his views, thoughts, opinions freely by words of mouth, painting, writing or any other mode. There are so many languages in our country that are spoken by the people. However, if Hindi language is made a national language then it will be very difficult for people to adopt it. It is true that we can not force anyone to speak a one language because every state has its own language like Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, Punjabi, Marwari etc.

Necessity of one nation and one language in democratic society:

India is a democratic country and it is said that Hindi language represents it our culture so it is important that our country has a language which everyone knows. If we leave our language then how will be take it further.

It is also very important that our country has one language due to which language foreign language do not get place. Keeping in this mind, our elders and freedom fighters conceived the official language and accepted Hindi as the official language.

Hindi is the fourth spoken language in the country after English and Spanish. Along with the English language, Hindi language is written with Devanagari script and it is the official language of Government of India. According to Article 351 of the Constitution of India, it is the duty of the union to spread the Hindi language so that people can serve Hindi language in the medium of communication. In our country, Hindi Divas or Hindi day, which is celebrated every year on September 14, all over India since 1953. Hindi is the most common or popular language in our country.

Whether one nation and one language is sufficient for a democratic society:

No, one nation and one language is not sufficient for the whole country because India is a country where many types of languages are spoken. But Amit Shah said that we used a one language that will be a global identity and he referred to the Hindi language.

Then sudden states are getting affected. According to the Article 343(2) of the Constitution of India, Hindi should be the official language for the period of fourteen years when the constitution was made. There are various politicians comment on this entire matter and Kamal Hassan realizing a video and clearly stating that language war is at hand, this kind of Hindi imposition is done on the sudden states.

Newly Chief Minister of Karnataka B.S. Yediyurappa clearly stated that, kannada is the principal language of Karnataka, so it is quite clear the sudden states are not ready to accept the Hindi dominance. According to the report of 2001, only 41 percent of the population are speak in Hindi and the rest of the population does not speak Hindi. After seeing all this thing, we makes Hindi a national language then it would be unfair with the people.

Why Hindi should be imposed as a national language to the rest of the country?

If we see, as an example, the way in which nationalism came to Europe. We need to understand this thing clearly, in India nationalism does not depend on a one language and one state because India is made up of so many languages. When we force to use a one language on people then it will be an exclusion of the people, and our country, our government is talking about inclusion not for the exclusion.

For example, if any other language is spoken in a particular state and if we make Hindi a national language, then those people will feel excluded and also they feel they are not the part of majority.

This is true, if we make Hindi a national language, then there will be an exclusion in a way. And one thing is also important we can never bind a citizens with one language because every one has right to freedom of free speech and expression which is given by the Constitution of India so that's why no one can compelled to the others to speak a particular language.
We can never communicate the India with Hindi language. If we force people to speak a language, at the end, the result will be that the state will be separated.

Therefore, Hindi itself is a language which has been constructed for many languages but Hindi as a national language not work out for India the reason is that, if you give Hindi as a position of national language then it might be divide people, specially there might be the division of south and north people. There is no need to impose Hindi as the national language because the fight will be arise between the people.

What is the need to create a national language:

The question arises that what is the need to create a national language, when work is going on in our country without a national language. Therefore, the mode of education has also been in English and we are seeing everywhere, English is being important in school or in colleges or at every place.

If there is a nation then there should be a national languages, but there is no need for a national language, because it will create a division of the people and division of the states. It would be fine we leave it to the people what they want.

Indian is known as a diverse country and we impose a language then our diversity will also end. It is true, people also come from outside to check our diversity and Unity in Diversity is the biggest identity of our country.

It is also true, we should enjoy speaks in Hindi not because it is obligation because we want to speak in Hindi. Hence, 43 percent of the people of our country speaks in Hindi and imposing one language is disrespecting to the other languages. India is known for unity in diversity so we can not impose a language to anybody.Hindi and English are our official languages of the nation and when our work is going on with official language, then maybe we do not need a national language.

Various problems for one nation and one language:

There are various problems for one nation and one language because Indian has various languages and each state has different type of culture. Thinking back, whether it is right to make a Hindi as a national language or not.

The imposition of Hindi language it will not unite the people but separate them. By doing this not a single person will suffer but all will suffer. It is important you must consult the people before making a new law or new scheme. No one will accept such laws which creates divisions among the people. And forcing language is also not acceptable, especially southern state will not accept the Hindi imposition. Hindi language is not the mother tongue of a majority of the Indians.

Therefore, every state has its own language and why would anyone leave their language, when everyone has right to freedom of free speech under Indian Constitution. The idea of one language is still being in questioned. There are many people who know Hindi and understand Hindi but at the time of giving presentation, his opinion, his views they are not comfortable with it.

Recently a draft has been prepared in which it is said that the state where the Hindi language is spoken and the state where Hindi language is not spoken will be compulsory to teach Hindi language like Tamil Nadu completely oppose and said that we can't  study Hindi language as a compulsory language. There is a flexibility in the draft students have the option to choose the language.

One nation, one language can never be a reality:
This debate is going on that Hindi should be the common language of the country but the Congress leader says that it can never be a reality. It maybe possible that a nation has one election and a one tax system but one language is not possible. Article 343 of the Indian Constitution makes it very clear, Hindi is an official language. The Official Language Act of 1963 says that, Hindi and English are both official languages of India.

The Gujarat High Court ruled in 2010 that, Hindi is not the national language of India. I understand the pride of Hindi speakers in this country but all the people in this country do not speak Hindi. There are many people who support Hindi and they say that Hindi should be compulsory one and also says that everyone will learn it for a period of time. This is only because they do not know any other language or maybe they do not understand the pain of learning a new language.

Conclusion
The conclusion finally comes, India is a country of different languages which are spoken by the people and every language has it own importance and this is the identity of our country. Article 29 of the Constitution of India states that any class of citizens who have their own specific language, script and culture will have the right to protect it. And it is absolutely not possible that we force a language on people, because everyone has right which is given by the Constitution. Yet if something like happens, then the right of the individual will be violate.
